A few weeks ago, Metro Transit announced a delayed in the construction of the C-Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on Penn Avenue due to a $15 million funding gap. For many residents in North Minneapolis, this is disappointing news. However, Metro Transit see this delay as an opportunity to better coordinate the reconstruction of Penn Avenue and it's roadway project.
Currently the C-Line is heading into the design and engineering phase for construction in 2018. Buses will be designed to fit the expected capacity projected on the route.
Carious to know how fast a BRT is compared to traditional buses? Try out the first BRT route on Snelling Avenue in Saint Paul. The route is expected to launch in June 2016.
