West Broadway Transit Study is Narrowing Down Transit Options

Stakeholders are narrowing down the list of transit options for a project many hope will be a catalyst on the West Broadway corridor in North Minneapolis.

The options on the table are a streetcar line, or a bus rapid transit line. For a streetcar line, a potential alignment would link Nicollet Mall to North Memorial Hospital on Oakdale Avenue in Robbinsdale or the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute on Golden Valley Road to the west. Both alignments would primarily use West Broadway. Another alignment option to reach Golden Valley Road via McNair Avenue is also under consideration.

In downtown Minneapolis, a streetcar line would likely link up to the planned Nicollet-Central Streetcar.

The two alignment options for bus rapid transit would terminate at Courage Kenny or the Robbinsdale Transit Station in downtown Robbinsdale, a future stop on Bottineau Light Rail Transit Line to Brooklyn Park.
