Construction to begin on metro's first Arterial BRT Line.

This May, construction on the metro's first Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Line, in St. Paul, will begin. The "A Line" will feature limited-stop's, and rapid bus service from the Rosedale Center regional mall in Roseville to a Blue Line light rail station in Minneapolis.

There will be 20 stations along that route that will feature pre-boarding payment, better shelters, real-time updates of bus schedules, and other conveniences.

This Arterial BRT line will be open for service in late 2015. The A Line will give us our first taste of Arterial BRT here in the region. Other planned BRT projects are along Penn Ave, and along West Broadway.

Are you excited for the potential transit improvements that a BRT line could bring to West Broadway? What other improvements would you suggest for buses along the corridor?
