The Met Council approved $6.5 million in grants for transit-oriented development along transit lines in Minneapolis and other metro communities. The planned projects represent $255 million in private investment along transit corridors, and are estimated to add and additional $1.4 million to the tax base.
These projects have the potential to generate 2,800 construction jobs, 765 regular jobs, and nearly 35 percent of the housing planned is affordable housing.
