Penn Ave Arterial Bus Rapid Transit could be built sooner

Penn Ave could be getting an arterial bus rapid transit route sooner than anticipated due to a delay of a similar project in St. Paul. Depending on funding and how the community responds, it could be built as soon as 2016.

Arterial bus rapid transit is different from traditional buses in that it aims to improve the features of bus stops.  These improvements would include heated shelters, fewer stops, real-time arrival information, traffic signal priority, pre-boarding payment, transit maps, and better security at stops.

An arterial bus rapid transit system is currently being studied as an option for West Broadway.  Is this a system that you would like seen done? What transit improvements would you like to see for West Broadway? Feel free to discuss.
